About the Site

Dear Reader,
I’m a teacher, writer, wife and mother, with a lifelong connection to nature and a delight in flowers. There is, to my mind, no better expression of love and friendship than a gift of a growing plant whether it be flowers, herbs, or veggies. Some of my favorite moments have been spent in conversation with my mother or a friend sharing advice, explorations, and triumphs about gardening.

I like to seek out the roads off the main path where I can ramble slowly, following a scenic route with mini-adventures. I will be driven to stop and see an abandoned well, beautiful hollyhocks or lavender for sale. If you too are curious, and like to putter in your garden creating coziness, this site will be a place for you.
I will be posting new content every couple of weeks. Please subscribe to receive notifications. If you’re interested in being a literary contributor, send your idea using the contact form.
Song of Solomon 4:16
Awake, north wind, and come, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread the fragrance of its spices.
I welcome you to Hollyhocks and Pinks! Here you will find conversation, musings, and inspirational stories of the garden.  We'll find joy when the wind blows through the trees creating shadows that sway on the lawn, as butterflies whirl by, and a cozy cat sleeps in the garden’s shade. We’ll share stories in appreciation of life’s mindful moments.
Your affectionate friend,
Terry
